SKIWEAR COLLECTION DESIGN
Ski wear is functional and serves mainly to protect against the weather. In my final collection at the fashion school “Meisterschule für Mode“ I brought fashion into this sportswear. Through the designed lines and the targeted use of fabrics and fabric combinations, fashion makes an excursion to the slopes. The inspirational core of the collection is the artistic work of Olafur Eliasson. Architectural design, harmonizing with the surroundings and playing with reflection and transparency is taken up in my work. What emerges is a fashionable eye catcher through artistic design lines, which nevertheless, still retains its functionality. I was approached by the freestyle skier Bene Mayr on this theme, who asked me to design a customized ski outfit for him. I incorporated his wishes with my own ideas for the final project and so an exciting collaboration was formed.
